I am having trouble with sweeps. I am drawing a log home and i added a log siding profile to the wall as a sweep works fine until it reaches the roof line where it cut the sweep only vertical i have attached a pdf showing the problem. Let me know if you can help. I am using Revit 2008

Hey jmiller,

The reason this is happening is because of the sweep profile. Revit doesn't know that it is suppsed to cut it when it intersects the roof.

You could try using a void extrusion and specify it to cut only the sweep, I would sketch the extrusion out so it begins at the bottom of the roof to give you a cleaner more accurate look.

This is not exactly a solution to your problem, but a suggestion that would make it go away.  Your roof eave aesthetically, and probably functionally, looks a little thin.  I see that you are in Wisconsin.  Is that where this project is located?  If so, I would assume that you are required to have a relatively high R-value for your roof construction and you may maybe a heavy snow load?  The thickness of your roof looks like it is 5 or 6"  I would think you would want to make the roof thicker so that it can 1) have enough visual weight to stand up to the heavyness of the log walls and 2) it may be structurally necessary.  The point of this is if your roof were thicker, then the squared off ends of your log profile would be hidden inside of the roof. Just food for thought.

After you make the void extrusion, you need to select the cut geometry button.
