I am currently working on my first revit project and so far it is going very well.  Prior to our structural engineer getting on board in revit, we had modeled all of the structural steel per their drawings.  Now that they are working in revit, we have blown away all of the structural items and have linked in their model.  When I created the roof framing for the low slope roof, I lowered every other beam line to create the roof slope and then I added crickets in the valley to slope to drain.  Now that the engineer is on board, we are reconsidering the way in which we create the roof slope.  we can either keep it the way that we started or we could change it to have low points in lieu of having low lines with crickets.  If we go with the low point option, the roof framing makes up all of the sloped and there would not be any need to add tapered insulation crickets.  It would seem that framing this option would be more complex however because every bar joist would have a different seat angle.  I have read and tested the method from another post showing how to make a low slope roof with a curved edge so I know I can model it either way.  I don;t have much experience in 'Big Box' architecture.  My question is which way is more common? Valleys with crickets or Low points. See the attached sketch.
