The scenario: We have a Room Finish Schedule with the materials called out in their shortened versio (i.e.: CT-01, CT-02, PT-01, etc). Therefore there will obviously need to be another schedule / legend to describe all these materials.

Question: How do you go about scheduling these items. I realize that there is an option of placing the images in a legend, and going that route, but since the images will probably not always print , etc. we would MUCH rather prefer the architectural standard of a schedule. However, I can't seem to find a way to schedule these finishes. I was thinking about a workaround using Keynotes or Tags, but maybe my inexperience with Revit (we're just starting out) is keeping me from getting a proper schedule using those tags.

So... any ideas? Thanks. (We're on RAC 2008 )

We are facing the same situation on a job we are doing.  We have assigned different Materials to have the name PT.01, PT.02, VCT.01, VCT.02, etc. We have material tags that indicate which finish starts and stops in certain locations, and the tag displays the names nicely (VCT.01-->|<--VCT.02).

Now if we were just able to schedule Materials, that would be a help us explain what all the short hand names that appear on the finish plan (and in our room finish schedule). I have looked through the forum, but have been unable to find anyone with a good answer to this.  Perhaps this should go on the wish list? Anyone have ideas for a work-around?

Thank you!

I was able to generate a Material Finish schedule by using the Material takeoff. I had to add some shared parameters to my materials and also had to set up a filter to show only the materials I wanted. It was kind of a long process, but it is possible.
