is there a way to attach or lock annotated symbols to objects, such as walls on input?  Our MEP plans use Annotated symbols and we'd like to have our symbols such as Outlets to attach and lock to the wall we snapped to on placement.  Is this possible?  or is the only way to align the object after we place it and then click the lock symbol?

Thanks,

Lorne

You could build a wall or face based family with the annotation in it.

Would I do this by creating something similar to the already Revit created Duplex outlet?  It is a family with a symbol and has a faceplate and attaches to a wall.  I want to avoid using families for this.  Seems to me symbols are easier.  They also leave for a smaller file size right?

Thanks,

Lorne
