Revit Architecture 2008\

I should start out by saying I am new to family creation and manipulating parameters with formulas but I have looked at a few tutorials here and elsewhere.

I had a need to create a ladder in which we could change the height and the rungs would be added or removed accordingly, and the distance from the wall could be changed as well.

Originally I started with a ladder family I downloaded from here. I modified it a bit at a time. Testing along the way and inserting it into my project and all was well.

As it went on I found better ways of doing some things and eventually everything that was in the original file was gone and replaced with my own components. The file has been purged of all old components

All seemed to be well, it was tested and retested but when I went to put it in the project it was all screwed up.

I started a new project and created a bunch of different wall types and it the ladder went in great there. I opened another project I had worked on and the ladder is fine in there too. It just seems to be this one project and I can not for the life of me figure out why.

I have attached some screen captures. Project 2 and Project New are the projects it is working just fine in. Project 1 you can see how screwy it is.

I purged project one of prior instances of the ladder. I closed the project down and reopended it using Audit. I tried opening the central file and inserting it in there with no luck.

Does anyone have any idea what would cause this? I have included the ladder file here, my methods of creating it might be a bit unconventional but it works. (except in my one project! Dagnabbit! And that was why I created it in the first place)

I went and recreated the ladder as a non-wall based family and its woiking like a chahm.

That's sure a learning experience but I still don't know why it is doing that.
