Today's self-lesson: Custom Railings and Balusters.

So far- it seems to be going well.  Making the flat surface ballustrade railing with custom balusters and top/bottom rails was piece of cake.  Now, the sloped ones I had trouble with.  As you can see in the .pdf file, my balusters are not entirely cut into the top and bottom rails.  The cut angle is placed in the center of the baluster making the sloped cut only half of the bottom and top surfaces of the baluster.  I tried moving the cut angles within the baluster family (also attached) to see if that did the trick.  Apparently not.  So, any help or guidance would be appreciated!

 Thanks.

 EDIT-Sorry, Revit 2008 here.

Alright.  I finally just figured it out.  I had to make my extrusion on the left elevation where the default angle reference planes were.  I locked my sketch lines to the reference planes so that when the angle is adjusted the top plane of the baluster adjusts with it accordingly.  The railing family will take that and clean up the sloped top and bottom planes of the balusters.  So, case closed, for me, for now.
