Right click on a wall and go to Properties. Click the Edit/New button and click the structure button. You can then set up the compound wall and attach the materials. You may need to set up the desired material first though. To do this go to Settings-->Materials and you can create all sorts of materials here. Let us know how your progress goes.

If you have already created all your walls and you want a quick fix. You can use the paint bucket and select the material you want the wall to be. This keeps what ever wall structure that you had orriginally but just changes the outside face. This way you can make it what ever you want...temp...or perminent.....   Brick, glass, horiz.,or vertical...

Good luck..and enjoy REVIT

Soory to bother you again. I tried both ways. For the 1st suggestion, I tried, but got lost while trying to set the compund wall. I actually had success with the second one. But I don't have many options. How do you add more 'paint schemes' if that is what you call them. thanks for the Help. This is my first week with Revit. I always used AutoCad.

TRUEVISIONS- My goal is to make the walls like the brick on the entrance of your entry perspective drawings, in the gallery. Nice work on all of those, by the way.

I have to create a walk-out basement house. How do you create a rendering with a ground plane that can act as real ground, and use slopes from the lot

arch2student,

What you do to create a "walk-out" basment is this. Create the house. Create a topo that slopes to the house as desired. Set the topo to the desired material/materials.. (grass, concrete, earth..) Go to SETTINGS, sellect SUN AND SHADOW SETTINGS, de-select the Ground Plan option. This will then render the sloping topo and all the floor plan levels. Be sure to make the topo extend past the desired image crop. Hope this helps..Let me know if you have further problems.

Thanks for all your help. I just got back in town, and finished my topo quickly. Now, I am interested in finding out how to do night renderings.
