Lorne, I have experienced slowdowns for a couple reasons, perhaps one of these will help: 1. Computer-Very slow on older computers, but yours seems to be more than adequate. 2. Graphics Card-If you have 256MB or less on the graphics card, it may cause some issues. Additionally, I read somewhere about there being an OpenGL issue with some cards (but perhaps someone else can either confirm or deny that rumor) 3. Virus Programs-This was more of an issue once we started using the portable license utility, but Norton completely screwed up Revit once the PLU was used. You might try shutting off your antivirus (through CTRL-ALT-DEL) and see if it helps. 4. You may also wish to see if you have the same slowdown with other programs shutoff, or start in safe mode so nothing starts up. 5. If new Revit files open oK and work, take a look at the model itself; is there excessive detail that is modelled into it, and more to the point, did you add a component that is slowing down the model? We havce had the experience with some RPC imports slowing down the machine, particularly some vehicles with an overabundance of surfaces. 6. CAD files-when AutoCAD files are imported into the drawing, they can slow down the system. 7. Shadowed views. If any views are shadowed, shut off the shadows, or at least make sure the window is closed (try using the close hidden windows option from the view menu while in a plan, or another non-taxing view) I do not know enough about worksets to know if they work in reducing the drain on the system, but try the above first and see if it helps. HTH
