I created an arched furdown between 2 interior wall pilasters.  I used the in place ceiling for the furdown and it worked fine.  my question is how to get rid of the line between the furdown geometry and the pilaster. i tried the join geometry, but it still shows the line.   I will need to do this a lot. Im basically creating an arched alcove.

revit building 9.1

thanks,

Kimberly

I go about it a slightly different way that might or might not be helpful to you depending on if that line you want to go away is in plan or elevation and where your cut plane is........

I had an arched alcove in a recent project and created a mass the shape of all of the arches and furdowns.

In elevation I extruded a profile that went across the column top turned 90d up a little way, hit my springline, over the arch, down a little ways and across the next column and repeat. The columns were basically pilasters that I extruded as masses up to the column top height of the bulkhead piece. Mass out the whole thing and join geom. up to make one piece. Then, I made a wall type that was metal stud with gyp on one side and applied it using Wall By Face to all exposed surfaces of my mass.

(Relatively) easy way to make any shape you want with big single plans of complicated shapes. Hope it helps.
