SELAMAT DATANG KE THREAD INI............. If you are a Revit user from Malaysia, we would like to hear from you. Let's have a brief member introduction. Tell us where you come from and what are you doing now (but we will leave the age part out). Let's hope this posting will help everyone to know each member better. If the group is big, maybe we can setup a Malaysia's Revit User Group! I am sure Autodesk (M) will support us! Starting with me here: My name is Kim Wong, and live in Penang. I am graduated from Sydney Australia. Now, a freelance Architect specialising in Revit. I help firms with Revit site to develop their project from conceptualization>presentation>production drawing. Later, I do marketing for the client with Revit, 3DMax & Photoshop. I am currently using Revit 8.1. Moving to Revit 2008 soon. Please click on my name and see some of my works posted here. Hi Kim, finally you are starting it huh... Let's bet for a cup of teh tarik...properly we wont get revitcity users for more than 20 in Malaysia..Haha. (not to include Autodesk Malaysia Staffs or any resellers), OK!! I am from Penang, Currently using Revit 8.1, graduated from UTM then USM. Builder. Eager to learn more and more of revit so it can improve our workflow either in design or site execuation. glad to hear from you all (if any from malaysia) and if anyone prefer to chat with me on revit, you can add me via my yahoo messanger... Kim, minus 2 count, you got 18 more & hope you win la...timeframe let's fix at 1 year from today la.

Hi Guys, Kim Wong i believe ur Suan's (Arkitek MAA Friend & my former guru :p). uve been showed us the future of Revit last year. Now im practising Revit fulltime in one of the architecture firm in europe. Been setup the Revit standard for office, collaboration practised in revit with other consultants, structure and m&e  Revit MEP and Revit Structure) now im working on one of the biggest building using revit in europe. Big challange but i believe revit has bigger controlled while working with worksharing n collaboration environment. yup Malaysia Boleh :p

Hi flynakashima>glad you took my advice and went for Revit. MAA did offer a task to train your guys but I was too old for that job. So I guess Revit is "dead" there? Glad you have th etime of your life in Europe showing off what a Reviter from Malaysia has to offer. I am so jealous of you. I want to go there too! We are still puzzle why there is still not many Revit users in Malaysia that would like to register here? Hi Reviters in Malaysia....please lah join revitcity and let us know more about you. You will never know I can sub project for you to do. flynakashima> I am now so specialised in kicking out A-Z on highend bungalow in 1-2 days by Revit. Also using Revit heavyly on highend project marketing! Glad to know you here. Tell us more what you are doing in Europe! Boleh cari makan tak?

Hai KimWong, I'm not a revit user yet but i've using autocad architecture(ACA) for few years and decided to learn about revit just for a change. Much of the concept in ACA are the about the same in revit. i personally think that revit is much better due to the way you have to work.. no cheating allowed! i'm just starting learning revit 2008 last week and really fall in love with the programme....still lots to learn. By the way, i'm orang melaka but now working in manchester uk for the last 9 years.

Fantastic Kim! Malaysia Boleh cari makan dengan Revit! I was doing a bit of research as to whether there were many firms using Revit in Msia, as I plan to work in KL when I graduate, and am a Revit user myself. My name is James Wong Kein Peng, originally from Kota Kinabalu. I am currently a student at Victoria University Wellington studying architecture and in 4th year. A Malaysian myself. I do alot of Revit work, from conceptual massing studies (though sketchup can be alot more intuitive), to using its easy drafting tools, and higher quality 3ds Max renders for Visualisation work. We had a Revit guru come from the US to train a handful of us.. and I have been blown away by its efficiency!I discuss my workflow and challenges that I come across in my blog: www.wongkp.blogspot.com and more recently a specific project to model an existing building: http://www.bbsc303.com/jameswong/bbsc303_site/homepage/index.html I love upskilling myself to be able to use a wide range of programs, from video editing (after effects and power director) to building science (ecotect) and website design (dreamweaver), line and draughting work in Revit to 3ds max modelling and rendering.. but I find Revit definitely the most efficient in terms of workflow (especially collaborating with other team mates through 'worksets'), although I do find it to be a bit restrictive in terms of organic modeling and 'going crazy' with wacky designs. But thats something we could debate about ofcourse.. hehe. Do you know if there are many firms in Msia embrasing Revit, or should I learn AutoCAD to be safe? Your absolutely right, I too am quite surprised at how many firms are still sticking to AutoCAD. Many thanks, and I hope you win that cup of teg tarik!! Take care, - James

Hi, good day everyone (so small people eh) currently I work at small built & design company at Bangi. I start discover revit at 2008 but up until now still not good enough in it. is there any local training I can check out? I quite slow if learn without sifu. watch video training always sleep halfway. I saw the revit user group forum, what happen? its not updated still in revit 2009? If there is any hands on training I can follow even private place with me as the only student I would gladly appreciate the help. If need fee we can discuss. I also found college informatics in KL got Revit training but I email them last year no reply until now. Autodesk training I heard the training not very good. Just add me in YM, ID : zieraq

Hello Malaysian Reviteers!
Stumbled across this thread only recently. Looking for job as revit modeler in Klang Valley.
I find it a bit rare to find a firm that is using revit to it's full usage, not just 'cuba-cuba'. Or maybe I'm not looking hard enough?

Im looking to relocate from Australia to Malaysia, but trying to find out first if there is big demand for Revit users in Malaysia
Are many projects there being documents in Revit? Are many draftspersons skilled in Revit?
