Quoting Mr Spot from 2006-07-18 21:13:46

"rotate any view an arbitrary amount on a sheet by selecting a the views crop region and rotating it the desired amount. AMAZINGLY THE VIEW CROP REGION REMAINS IN POSITION and the view rotates. HTH."

is there any way to reset once it has been rotated or is there way to check to if was a rotated view to begin with?

-----------------------------------

I really want this to work...some good things some bad

Try putting the view into project north before attempting to rotate the view.

Rotating the crop region doesn't work for elevations. I need to create a sheet with a room plan, and elevations surrounding it all rotated to orient with the rooms walls. I can use 90 clock and anti-clock for the two sides, but there is no 180 degree rotate to do the bootom elevation... does anyone have any duggestions?

This is a fairly standard way of presenting room elevations, can't believe there is no way of achieving it in Revit

I don't see anyway to do what you want within REVIT.  You could always take it ouside REVIT and modify it.

I haven seen that method of drafting for 40 years.... When people hand drafted, they did that so they could directly project their lines from the plans.  Obviously with CAD or REVIT, their is no need to do that anymore.  I think this is one of those "...because we always did it that way" that doesn't make sense.

Revit 2012 rotate crop view on elevation doesn't work manually. it only works with simple project but not complex ones. I got a multi story elevations in a complex of buildings that I do not want to break with floor matchlines so I want it to lay down the landscape print sheet with the roof at the left and foundation at the right. I tried to rotate 90 degrees manually but the view will not rotate. It only rotates 45 degree or 180 degree. Found out that there's a preset Rotate on Sheet option box with 90 degree CCW and CW the hard way.

Not sure if anyone already suggested such an option:

Simply create a callout around the object you are willing to display on your sheet, hence, in this callout view you are able to select the crop region, which can be modified by means of rotating it in any angle you wish.

That should solve your problem.

Crop annotation must be enabled in order for the crop region rotation to work.
