I suggest doing your soffit as a wall type and attach it to the roof. This will take care of the flat soffit and the triangle return.

ahhh, i hadnt thought of that. darn it this has been giving me fits for a week. thank you for the suggestion. I will try it and let everyone know how it worked for me.

I wouldn't use a wall. You have a soffit tool for what you are looking for under the roof command. Also, to get the little triangle piece you're looking for, you can attach fascia to the edge of your roof, or even to the edges of your soffit and wrap it around the corner. you can even attach it to a model line you place where you want your fascia sweep to follow.
