is there a way to adjust the tranparency of a material so that it renders as transparent?

example: i want floors and walls to be tranparent so i can highlight the mechanical systems.

Hit VV to bring up material graphics overrides and in models tab just go to each category and change the transparency.

Use / duplicate 'Glass' as the initial material and it will work better for rendering. Then modify that new material as required. Not all materials in REVIT are equal and have the same properties.
