I have to model curtainwall that is double curve in plan and curved in vertical section, as the floor goes up the width is getting bigger, looks like trapezoid in elevation. I used massing but then the connection between mullion to mullion and mullion to transom was very ugly.  I try also using adaptive type but the glass goes in and out when I placed them in the project, and the mullion to mullion connection is bad also.  Can someone help me on this? Many Thanks,

Thanks Dingohot for your reply,This will work if your mullion and transom are the same shape, but in my case, my mullion is triangle and my transom is square, any suggestion? hoping for your help. many thanks...

I suppose I can help you if you upload a shape sketch or something you want to make.

Now i have a question.

1. why that detailed model necessary? what for? make model simple and use drafting view for detail documents.

2. it doesn't seem double curved face. I dont think adaptvive or pattern based families necessary for single curved face.

3. have you tried with mullion joiin type? see attached image.

Hi dingohot,

1) my system is unitized so it needs to be modelled per module, same the way it was deliver and installed in site. Each trapezoid shape on conceptual mass attached are my panel shape.

2) Here I attached the actual part of building conceptual massing. it was double curve in plan and also curved on vertical section. none of the adjacent panels are the same and the shape of each panel is trapeziod.

3) Mullion joint not applicable.

Many thanks Dingohot, still looking for your help...

Hi Dingohot,

As I looked in your sample, it was not as per module as i want it to be?

Can you please kindly apply this panel in my attached mass previously?

thanks again

i just saw your profiles... I think my last reply will score, Or seprate profiles left/right, top/bottom and make a border with them at pattern family.

but for fig4 from your pdf (gap between border mullion),you have to anoter custom pattern or adaptive family to make it fit.

i don't think it's impossible, but there is no easy way i guess.

anyway... what on earth this kind of model necessary?????? i really don't get it though you explained...

Hi,

Please correct me if im wrong,  In the specs we have to deliver up to LOD 500, and there is a chance that this will run in 4d time simulation, the panel should be modelled as per module, same as we are going to install them on site. and for the connection of profile, the consultant will surely notice these connection, as per my understanding we should model the curtainwall as almost same replica of what we will deliver and install in site.  Need your advise.. thanks in advance

oh, so you're not making the model to make documents.

I'm an architect in Korea, so i have not much idea what is going on other contryies with Revit or BIM.

But i'm quite sure that mullion is just mullion. i mean any mullions are made in fatoryies, not in site. so, it doesn't matter that shape of mullions in model, just identfication in model does. on site, they just delivered and assembled.

Also about 4d simulation. whats big difference between triangle and rectagle mullions in 4d simulation?

I could be wrong. this is just my opinion.
