If by drawing a line that has letters or numbers or symbols in it you mean, I have a cheat solution that will work. The only downfall is that you can't draw curved lines;only straight ones. Start by creating a family that is a generic annotation. Create a label, and give the parameter any name you want, it doesn't matter. Make sure you centre it on the reference planes, as you need to be able to dimension the label. Create a new family, either generic model line based, or detail compoment line based, and load the generic annotation family into the line based family. Dimension from the label to the end refernce planes, and give the dimension a paramater like end gap or something. Array this group, selecting "last" in the array option, and dimension the array to the other refernce plane, giving the dimension a parameter. Give the array number a parameter, as this way you can control how many symbols are in the line. Load into a project, but instead of it being under line, its either under detail component or generic model. Draw the line away!

Hey, I'll upload my latest version of that line, because it was created ages ago. To change the letter, go to the element properties and the option to change it should be there =) It's under a detail compenent. Hope you like it =)

Here is a line style I have created with the option to change between squares, circles, triangles and diamonds which are all size parametric as well as spacing. It uses the process in whch timbo89 talks about. I have been using this for quite a few years myself.

Line Symbol is the label which contains the different types that are controlled through visibility.

Line Style iss the line with the arrayed symbol of your choosing by checking the visibilty parameter for the type

Here is also a text line which adjusts the number of symbols based off the spacing value and the length of line. The text also has a transparent background. but this can be changed by editing the group then editing the label family and then changing the text to opaque background

Hi marmiketin1,

Thanks!

I wish that we can embed those lines into walls, curtain walls and railings.

This way we can draw a wall or a fence to have the lines on the plans.

For walls, we can show ratings; for fences (we are using curtain walls) we can have the fence lines following the industry standards.

Yeah definitely would be nice to have more options for wall graphics in plans. Even just having a fire seperation line type associatedthe walls for the seperations would be great.
