Hi!
I am unable to fill an opening I created on a curved wall.
I have attached a image of the opening, is it possible to fill the opening with glass? If so, how?

An opening is just that - an opening. If you want glass, then you need a family or model in place element. So model a curved glass - in place.... or flat.

so i would to produce a mass model which is sized to fit in the opening created?
that sounds very difficult :/

Why do people think they have to use a mass? If you can create a mass, then you can create an inplace element - NO MASS!
The wall is curved only in plan? Then just extrude a vertically curved form.
BTW - You posts don't tell us anything more than an opening in a cuved wall. It would be better if you are more descriptive when posting since Revit is a 3D program.

The Wall is not only curved in plan, ive attached an image file which shows the top, bottom and elevation views to highlight its ‘obscure’ shape.
I am unable to simply extrude a form since the form from the base begins to flare out and then shrinks back in, similar to a vase.

Ok the solution is this. See attached file. You need to create lines for the perimeter of the window and check 3d snapping and follow surface in your options bar . Sketch the window with the lines then in properties select the is reference lines. Convert the lines to reference and then create the mass form. Then change mass material to window

Use the negative mass of the solid you already made.

THANKS FOR THE HELP GUYS!!!
ive just outlined the opening with 3D snap and follow surface and created the form.
It has a little angular look and not as smooth as the form but looks like its worked! :D

you need to convert your lines to reference lines if you want the window to bend.

just one more question if possible, is it possible for the glass to be one single plane nstead of being split into several peices?

HI,
ive attached the file. as youll see from the image, the mass formed is not as smooth as the model itself.
also it is quite difficult when assigning a material or surtain wall to the opening itself, having to click on each individual face formed?
is it possible the opening could be one single curved face?
sorry about all the questions, im only just learning about massing and experimenting with odd forms.

If your going to create something that complex see what i did attached. This is two voids carving the glass form. One void carves the hole out of the half cylinder as a cross the other void slices the end of the window so its flush with the curve. This might be preferable method for that kind of glass form your trying to create.

the alternative is this. Notice i added lines 3d follow curve within the glass as well so it all curves. This i would assume would be locations for mullions.

i think the first option would be too difficult, i would not be able to create a form which would be able to slice the form creating the opening in the mass.
the second option, isnt that the same as the original option which was outling the opening with reference lines then creating the form?
