I'm having the same problem and with the furniture family ONLY. I know how to use Cut and Paste Aligned as it works as designed for other families. Turning off the floor in visibility graphics doesn't work.

No, I'm not playing around with the workplane. And like I mentioned other families (plumbing, casework) are working just fine so everything must be in order in this regard. Attached is an example of an item in question. It's a bed from the Revit stock library. Host is Level 2 but there is no offset option with this family.

Pull down that host level and see if you can change it to the next level.

I've already tried that with no effect. It stays at Level 2. Have you been able to make this work on your machine? And, if so, how.

To make a long story short: I solved the problem by redrawing all the floors.

Easiest way around this is to group all the furniture and fixures, then copy and paste them into a seperate project (project 2), and then copy and paste them back into the original project on the desired level. If you have hosted fixtures such as bathtubs, they will dissapear when you paste into (project 2), but when you bring them back into the original you can use the "restore all excluded" tool.

loganlkemp,
There is no need to group and no need to paste in a seperate project. For multi-level projects just copy the selected the objects to clipboard and paste to elected levels.
If you want to use a group for other reasons in other projects, you can group, then use save as/ library / group to save the group.

I'm having this problem with Revit 2016. I am placing families into a group on Level 1 and they are getting hosted to the floor not the level. When that same group is on another level, those families remian on Level 1.

I have a solution: remove the problematic elements from the group and the rehost button will now appear when you select the item. Get the item into a view where you can select the level line and then rehost it to the level. Put in back in the group and it will behave the way you want it to.
