Hello, I just tried to change a property of multiple sheets at once (select sheets > properties), yet this doesn't seem to work anymore. For clarification, I have a sheet index with all properties listed in it, rather than changing them one by one, I want to change a property like 'drawn by' and be done with it. I used to change properties for all my sheets all the time in 2010, yet now, I just can't seem to get it done. Can somebody explain why this happens, and how I can get this to work again? Thanks!

hi bert i did not know you could do this, so tried it. in 2011. you just select the sheets in the project browser, and in the properties box, change whatever you want and it applies to the lot. great trick!

There is an issue here but not always. As I understand it, keep your browser and properties docked - make sure your sheets are collapsed so you don't see the views - and now multiple select your sheets and change the properties. I didn't seem to have a problem in 2011 when I did it this way.

Latemore & WWHub, Thanks for your response, but unfortunately that's exactly what I'm doing (same as I did in 2010), yet the properties dialog changes from my selected sheets to the view I'm in once I've tried to change a property (and of course, nothing changed). I can change the properties for a single sheet just fine, but as soon as I select more then one I'm getting this issue. Thanks for testing it out,

This is discussed in an augi thread on what wasn't fixed in the 2011 upgrade. Here is what Wes Macaulay wrote: "We've done some testing this afternoon, and it seems, we can get multiple sheets' properties changed using the Project Browser after all. But it's still flaky: - you cannot select more than two clicks' worth of sheets, so you can Ctrl-Click only two sheets; otherwise you must use Shift-Click
- all the sheet views must be collapsed so that views are not visible under each sheet; only the sheets can be visible
- sometimes you still can't get multiple sheets to select using the above: so click on the first sheet you want to change, then click in the drawing area, then back on the same sheet, and then Shift-click the last sheet you want to change, and the Properties pallette should show that you're selecting multiple sheets"

This didn't work for me, All sheets are collapsed. I noticed that even when I select multiple sheets, the properties pallette shows only properties for the active view.

Hi Bert, I seem to have the exact same bug than you do. I use to be able to do that in 2010. Now, I am not able to do batch changes in the properties dialog. My collegue is able to, but it seems that it's a Revit 2011 problem ; some have it, some don't. Did you solve your problem? I can't figure it out yet.

To bad...have you tried to uninstall and reinstall Revit on your computer?

I did try an uninstall, but it made no difference. I'm still really annoyed by this.

I was frustrated by this behaviour as well, but then lost interest and just dealt with it for a while. Earlier this week I was trying to squeeze some added performance from my aging workstation and decided to set the Windows 7 Performance Options to best performance (Start, right-click on My Computer and Properties, Advanced System setting, Performance, Settings, Visual Effects Tab... <really Microsoft?> . I set the bottun to "Adjust for best performance" which unchecks all the bells and whistles in the chart below. To my surprise, back in Revit I got back my ability to select and apply properties to multiple items in the Project Browser at once. I don't know which Performance adjustment/ checkmark in particular caused me to get back this behavior, but I bet the Aero interface on Windows 7 is the culprit for this bug. So now I live (happily) with old school Windows decorations (reminds me of Windows NT)... YMMV but I hope that helps and that Autodesk and MS fix this on the next go around.

I was having this problem in 2012 also, but I finally realized that I had to have the current view open to a sheet that I
wanted to change and then when I selected the sheets in the Project browser and changed a property it worked. You
might also have to select the current sheet first and then the rest of the sheets with shift-click.
Hope that works for you.

It is indeed a Win 7 conflict problem with revit.
Untick this box - 'Enable desktop composition' in the performance options.
(Start, right-click on My Computer and Properties, Advanced System setting, Performance, Settings, Visual Effects Tab)
Worked for me.

I've been seeing this problem as well, and though I haven't tried the Windows setting (headed there after I post this), I have been able to make it work. It seems that if you select your sheets and click in the properties window the properties change back to your current view. Click back into the project browser (I click on the title bar so I don't deselect any views), then back into the properties window. This time it shows the properties for everything.
