Whoops, didn't notice page 2. I'm not sure why there is a focal point. One workaround might be to lump together four smaller rectangular light sources. And to knock back their luminosity. I softened the default luminosity of the light source by 50% or so. Originally the focal point was really burning out the color. I tweaked the properties of the decal some, and I found that bump, luminance, and reflectivity negatively impacted the image. I have them all set to the minimum. Perhaps a layer of glass over the decal might add an interesting effect.

alright thanks, especially for the decal effects. it takes me so long to do even a low rendering that messing with each effect takes a long time to decide how the change the decal. i will definately give this method a shot.

Remember, you can always just render a small window when you are testing things out.

Ahh , this could be part of your problem too -- for a light source to render properly, such as from a shape and not a point, you need to have the render quality set to at least medium. revit uses simpler physics for draft and low quality renderings, and this might be derailing you. I tend to test renderings from a 3d view with a tightly cropped scope box, and turn off all unneccessary artificial light sources. this allows "medium" to take a reasonable length of time.

just a bit more playin with the decal can work wonders for you .....just increased the intensity of the images in decal to get this new render ..plz compare the previous attachment wid it u wud be able to make out the difference pretty clearly..... i believe you have to have different settings for different decal images....sounds a bit hectic but thats the way it goes
