I wouldn't have thought that the help files would be any different from arch to structure, but I guess they are.

Typhoon:  Patton is right.  My structure help file does not have what you are showing.  I notice the section is Modifying Elements with Tools.  Here is a screen capture of the main sections i have under the Modifying Elements with Tools section.  No mention of Cut Profile at all.  Very weird that the help file for structure would be missing something like that from architecture.

I just checking for the same in Revit Structure 2010, did a search for cut profile.  And there it is.  Just like the screen you showed Typhoon.  Seems like an omission from the RS2009 help files.

I don't have structures and didn't know that it was missing.  Now that you have seen it, you can see why I wanted you to goto the HELP.  It explains it so much easier and better than we can here in the forum.

The HELP in REVIT is really good ... but most CAD users are so used to not having something like this so they refuse to even look.

Sorry again about not knowing that is was missing in structures 09.

Ya, it's really weird that it is missing from RS2009.  And you are correct, the help is very good, in general.  When I have problems, I start with the built-in help, then I go to the Mastering Revit Structures book.  If I still haven't solved my problem, I come here.  I try not to ask questions here until I have exhausted other resources.

Thanks
