 i try. i do often opologize for being a jerk, but you really really need to have hardware thats on par with the needs of the software. hardware is money but TIME is money and from a people who are successful in BIM usually have the hardware.

Its been crashing with different drivers, lastly on 197.59 for Quadro. The graphics card is a FX 1500, so it should be good for Revit 2010. The first time we experienced this problem was on a GeForce 6800 XT with 128 MB RAM (thats why I tested the amount of RAM in use with GPU-Z). Revit 2010 doesn't need a CAD card to run fluently with 3D-acceleration (Radeon 3450 is just as fast as FX 3400. Go figure). When we upgrade, it will be with Radeons or GeForces with 512 - 1024 MB of RAM. Thanks for the replies. I didn't notice until later that it was an old thread.

Here's an update of our progress: Revit likes big duo cores. It prefers a 3.4 Ghz Duo Processor to a 1.6 Quad-core for example. Revit likes a 64-bit OS, 8GB RAM minimum and the pagefile needs to be insane-sized like 20,000 mb. Set this up and you should be fine. As for particular graphics cards, it REALLY varies a lot. But as long as you have these bare minimums in place Revit should be able to throw around some pretty big models.

<a jerk> yes I was. I was doing the work of an entire team by myself from a small firm that wouldn't listen to any software or hardware requirements I gave them, and following the upgrade standards set by a firm the size that could handle this style of infrastructure... I was way too stressed and took it out on the RevitCity boards. I apologize for being such a jerk. <sorry>
