Hi, can anyone help me with this problem? I'm trying to place a room in this space, however there seems to be some sort of boundary that runs through the room. I cannot find out how to get rid of this, all I can do at the moment is place two rooms in, however there is a gap left between the two of them. This strange gap that is left over cannot be seen until I am using the tool to place a room, when it shows up as an area outlined in pale blue. I have attached a picture to help illustrate the problem Thanks

Hi there, Not sure why the gap is there or what is causing it but I have replicated it by creating what you have on the screen and it seems to work fine. It might be best to delete the walls and recreate them?? It wont take that much hassle to do this. Attached is what I got. I used the seperation line tool. Kevin

Go to Room and Area menu and you have there a "Separation/Boundary line", you can delete that Line and create new ones....

This does not appear to be caused by a room separation line. Draw a section through the problem area and turn on the rooms in the view. They may extend to the floor below or above and are defined by other walls that are not visible (or switched off). It may also be a phase thing. The attached image shows a similar situation where the dividing wall is existing and the view is set to show new.

I am having the same issue. I moved/deleted some walls a while back, and Revit seems to still think they're there. I tried deleting the rooms from the schedule, and re-creating the room with tag, but didn't work.
Any suggestions?

Revit does not hold onto this information so look again. You either have room bounding lines or walls ... even walls from a lower level that go through the floor could cause this.

Thanks for your reply. I checked for walls and boundary lines (see attached). Could there be anything else that I am missing?

Are you talking rooms or areas? They are two seperate things. If rooms, then you are talking about room boundries - not area lines.
Window the area and show us the filter. Also - are you doing pases or design options?

I meant to say room boundaries. I'm doing phases, and it's all modeled under the same phase (new construction). I've attached a couple of images. Is this what you mean by filter?
The red arrows indicate places where the room boundaries are not consistant with the walls or with room boundary lines.

You seem to be fighting the answer. Revit doesn't just do this. This is a user error and we can only guess. You have something there that is bounding your rooms. You say you are doing phases. Were the rooms createdd in this new phase? Are there walls there in the existing phase? Change the phase settings on your view and LOOK!
What is your view depth? Do you really see to the level where the room boundry might be?
You need to keep looking.

So I checked that the phase filter is set to 'show all', changed the visibility depth and changed the viewport setting to wireframe, double checked that 'room separation' lines aren't hidden in VG, check that the upper and lower limit of the room were within the space (in section) and that no walls from below were coming into the space... Any other suggestions? Thanks again.

Create a new view from the view tab. Delete the rooms in that circle and then add new ones.

I already tried that. I deleted all rooms and tags from the room schedule, then used 'room' command again. The room boundaries still leave out those areas of the room.
I may have to export to Autocad, manually calculate the areas, and manually annotate each room with the areas.

FROM A NEW VIEW!
I don't know what you may have done to your view so you need to create a new view from the view tab.. NOT A COPIED VIEW! Uncheck the "Do not create..." box << or whatever that says - I can't remember. You want a virgin plan without any things you may have added or subtracted.
