Hi all,

I have an area type schedule on a drawing sheet that shows building gross area and such. But when I update an area plan, the area only update in the real schedule, not on the schedule thats on a drawing! Scary. This is fixed when I restart Revit (Architecture 2009), but I feel I have to be able to trust revit to always update by itself...

Anyone else had this problem or know a solution?

Sorry but that can't happen.  Perhaps you have written this wrong.  A schedule placed on a sheet or looked at in a view are one in the same!

Thats what i thought too. I recreated the problem and posted a jpg of it. I changed one area plan (circled in red), the list on the left didnt change so i dragged another copy of the exact same schedule to the sheet. As you can see that one changed, but still not the old one! Now I restarted Revit and then they both look identical!

???

Please submit this to AutoDESK.

Sorry, but this did happen to me too just now. The same issue... Revit won't update some of the fields in a schedule unless restarted. Seems like the issue hasn't be fixed since 2008/2009.

Could it be because of my GPU, which is not supported by Autodesk? Have had some other issues too with it and Revit, but didn't expect the schedules to behave like that. Has there been a hotfix or any remedy to this?

Cheers!

If you are using unsupported hardware then that is probably your problem and there will be no hotfix.  AutoDESK makes it very clear what they support.

We have been using Revit for a long time (2006) and we have never seen this issue.

Yeah, was dreading that would be the culprit. I've seen the list of supported GPU's by Autodesk, but which one is the best, or which few are really good GPUs for Autodesk products. Does anyone know? Smile

I tried in my revit mep 2012 and it works perfecly. Changed a room name in the schedule and the schedule in the sheet was updated immediatelly.

All,

I am the Office Digital Design Leader at a large Architecture Firm. The office I work for has around 100 Revit users. I have in the last month seen this error 3 times. Once on a door schedule, once on a furniture schedule, and once on a drawing index schedule. All separate projects, 2 times on 2012 and once on 2013. Different projects each time.

For some reason the sheet instance of the schedule gets out of synch with the model and "view" instance of the schedule. The scary part is that the inccort data not only shows up on the screen, it will also print.

Saving to central does not fix the problem. Toggling the parameter doesn't fix the problem. Exiting the program and restarting seems to fix the problem. I cannot recreate the issue.

When I find a cause and/or a solution I will report it on this blog. Please reach out to me if you have this problem.

Thanks,

Paul

I know this thread is ancient... but I found it searching for an answer.  It's the sheet index that won't update for me.  I've been using this installation of Revit for about 6-months, and it's the first time (in over a dozen projects) that it's happened.

I have the Sheet index sorted by various categories, and when I moved one sheet that was in an incorrect category to the correct one, the schedule didn't update the change.

To note, restarting Revit and re-opening the project did refresh the schedule.  Interestingly, before the restart... the schedule displayed correctly when opened from the Project Brower, but displayed wrong on the sheet it was inserted on.  Aparently whatever bug is causing this is still out there since 2008.

Ancient thread, but running into this as well with Revit 2015.

I have a sheet revision index listing 8 revised sheets in schedule view and only 7 when looking at same schedule placed on sheet.

Closing and re-opening the sheet and schedule makes no difference, nor does syncing or reloading, the only solution appears to be restarting Revit.  Running UR13 with all current updates.

creyc, You write: "...Running UR13 with all current updates..."   What is UR13?  Saying you have all the updates does not make it so.

Below is a clip from the Autodesk site that says they "improved" the consistency of data from schedule to schedule on a sheet and they show the proper build numbers for 2015.

Ah sorry for using the somewhat confusing Autodesk abbreviation.  'UR13' just means "Revit 2015 Update Release 13", which came out Feb 29th, 2016.  At the time of my post this is still the most current update available through the subscription center. (see screenshot)

Interestingly those release notes you pasted for UR9 certainly sound like they have already addressed this issue, which should have then been rolled into UR13 according to their readme:

"This update release addresses issues reported to Autodesk and contains the fixes included in Autodesk Revit 2015 Update Release 1, 2, 3, Multi-Category Schedules Hotfix for Update Release 3, Revit 2015 R2 for Subscription customers, as well as Revit 2015 R2 Update Release 5 through 12."

Hopefully I can wrap these 2015 projects up soon and pray this isn't an issue in 2016, as it's quite discomforting not being able to trust your schedules to update properly.

Autodesk is driving me nuts.   We are on subscription and yet we still don't know, nor can we find all of the updates.   Many are not available in the subscription center.

We found that some updates would not work with windows 10 or the other way around.   I know we don't have UR13 installed for 2015.  Some updates cause problems.

BTW - Do you know about Autodesk's odd year problems.  With AutoCAD the 0dd years were always BAD.   It was always better to skip them.  13 updates is BAD but tghe year is 2015.   e have not yet installed 2017 and I'm not in a big hurry.   Waiting for updates.
