1.   For this tutorial create the following Duplicate layers with the describe filters applied:
       A. (Bottom Layer) Dry Brush – settings 2, 8, 1
       B. Colored Pencil 16,6,48
       C. Blur Smart Edge, 3.0 / 25, Edges Only, Quality High, Invert Lines (Remember this one?)
       D. (Top Layer) Graphic Pen 15, 20, right diagonal
You should wind up with layers that look similar to these:

2.   Once you have these layers now what? If all layers are set to normal, you only see the layer that is on top of the stack so what do you do? You modify how the layer “blends” with the other layers in the stack. Turn off all the layers, so you can watch the process. Start with the Dry Brush layer, and leave it turned on and the blend left set to normal. Turn on the colored pencil layer, and the dry brush layer disappears. Well – that’s not going to work. Change the blend setting from normal to Multiply (highlight the layer in the layer window (turn it blue) now, at the top of the window, select the arrow beside the “Normal” text. Now all blends are visible (22 of them) – Select Multiply.. Now that’s more like it, a “blend” is starting, but its not quite right yet….
