Hmm..., I would say invest in some good hardware that has a fast processor, good graphics card and lots of ram. Any basic computer should be able to render well as long as you know how to use revit well and understand the basic principles behind rendering, for example; camera, lighting and material adjustments. Also use your crop tools. and practice a lot with the interior sun with or without artificial lights to render exterior daylight settings and try to avoid using the cloud toool. the reason why i mentioned the interior light for daylight rendering is becuse it is designed to capture photons, global illimination, diffuse and indirect lightng. when done your result might look over washed with light, but once you use the adjustment tools for the exposure and shadows, you will end up with a nice image and also....... invest in a very good display unit. if you can afford it an hd monitor to be able to appreciate the power of the graphcs card and the wonderful renderings here on revit city. Every render looks good on yur own monitor , but when you see it on an other it can make or break the image. Try and read the article here on revit city about the custom computer for revit by Mike A. Hope this helps.
