Insert the window in one and use the opening tool to cut hole out of the other.

you can use join geometry to join the two butted walls together and the window will cut thru both.

coreed there is a flaw in using join geometry.  It will only cut the wall as long as it 6" or less from the other wall. seems like you should be able to control that.

i don't think it is a flaw, just a limitation maybe.

Well yeah still.  It's an odd limitation.  And one that I wish was not there but I found a work around that is good enough for what I am doing but one I would rather not be doing.  I added an airspace to the wall that goes back to the other wall that way it is still within the 6".  But there are a few issues with that but I can deal with at the moment.

Hello, Revit beginner here.  I have to parrellel walls (one furring, one block w/ brick).  I joined the walls and the door and window openings appear fine in plan view, but the elevations and model shows the openings bricked over.  Any ideas?

i would create a generic third wall to represent the void (air space) between the two walls, set it to Thermal/ Air Layer and whatever thickness you need and then join the three walls together.
