I had the same problem. I had made sure there was nothing out there in space, it was flat, etc. But it seems my problem was within the blocks. Once I exploded, purged and imported, everything came out fine.

 

And thanks for teaching me the Positioning: Manual, I have been struggling with placement of my CAD imports!

Unbelievable-

 

Almost three years and 680 views and 15 attempts to answer

this simple question.. THAT is amazing..

 

When you import a DWG into a revit project you are doing

something that should not be done in the first place- BUT

if you insist- then all you need to do to get it to the scale

you want is set the import scale. yup- it's that's simple..

 

You have to set the scale MANUALLY almost everytime

you import a DWG. That means "custom" scale. You

don't know exactly what that scale should be-  so you

"test" it by setting the custom scale to maybe .04.  And

then re-import it with a different setting if you don't

like the size- until you get it close to the size you want.

Or you could even get it to the exact scale that way.

 

Gee where have all the revit gurus been hiding?
