I've created a parametric wall based family to represent metal wall panels and it works fine, but I can't create a schedule for them because the information (Mark# width, height, etc.) are family parameters and cannot appear in schedules. Any ideas?

My first thought when I hear 'panel' in a Revit conversation is to look toward using the 'curtain wall' tool in Revit.  I prefer to think of curtain walls as 'ruled walled systems'  The division lines are called curtain grids and can host profiles we call mullions, but those mullions can be almost any shape and material we want inculding not having any at all.  The panels can be traditional things like glass, but the can also be other walls.  Curtain panels can be scheduled and tagged very easily as well.
That said, to modify your family to report properly in a schedule you have to use 'shared parameters'.  Before diving into to using them though be sure you understand them.  The help file and other posts on this and other forums go into their uses.
