I am using Revit MEP 2008. Can a family be dynamic like the dynamic blocks in autocad? Example I have a dome camera family that I need to show which direction the camera is to be pointing for the installer to aim it. I want to have an arrow that rotates around the center point of the dome. Can I do that in one family and change the arrow rotation per instance in the drawing? I have included my family to help describe my problem. Any help would be appriciated.

 Thanks,

Doug

As you can see from norby's post you can do pretty much the same thing in Revit families as you can with dynamic blocks. I had just started to get into dynamic blocks when we switched over to Revit. I find that Revit can do a lot more than AutoCAD but it can be a lot more complicated.

You really need to be able to wrap your head around formulas to be able to get some of the visibility state type options to work in Revit.

Personally I dont use RevitMEP but I understand that it can really be a bear to get all of your families correct in plan, 3d, wiring, etc. On the bringht side if you have questions/ problems people are useually pretty good about helping you figure them out.
