I recenlty converted some exterior walls on a model to a new wall type. The wall type and wall properties are exactly the same. They have no profile mods. Nothing is different that I can find.

The walls are 6" different in height. Even if you change them back to a generic wall.

I did notice that the walls that are lower than they should be don't have an upper shape handle.

What could it possibly be that was done to these walls that would cause a shape handle to be turned off?

TIA.

Select the walls and click the detach, detach all button see if that does it. Or chekc the properties and see if there is a base or top offset.

Yes, I detached the wall from all. As I said, it is the same as other walls in ALL respects that I can find (properties are exactly the same in the properties dialog box) but it is (there are actually two) 6" (I'm guessing) shorter in height and has no upper shape handle visible.

I am looking for the specific modification that eliminates an upper shape handle, which I am not aware exists.

I am thinking this is a bug.

If they arnt attached, my guess is that someone edited the profiles of the walls that you arnt seeing the shape handles on.  Because then all the properties should be the same still.

No... if there is a profile, you get a button that allows you to remove it... which we don't see in this case, either.

Maybe I will copy the walls to a new file and post it...

OK. I finally got it through my rock crusted brain... check ALL of the walls! <grin>

It is, in fact, Detach and Detach All as long as you pick the wall that happens to be the one that is screwed up! DOH.

Thanks everyone.
