This may seem weird, but it's something that I'm trying to do. I have been able to flex a model with the horizontal skew and a different model with the vertical skew. I am currently working on a simple model that with incorporate both; however I’m hitting a few snags. I’m not sure if the ‘node’ point that I lock to the reference plane for the different skews will lock on to more than one reference plane. Does anyone have any advice on this? Does anyone know if this is possible? I've been using a simple solid for extrusion in the beam family template to accomplish this, and I've tried a solid blend as well.Of course once I cross that bridge, I have to incorporate the rest of the beam constraints such as; depth, and width. Attached are two files, one with the horizontal skew (Ah1 & Ah2 in ‘Family Types&rsquo and one with the vertical skew (Av1 & Av2). Those should be the only constraints put on the objects, although the rest of the parameters are there, I have not been able to get the skew to function with width and depth constraints. Any tips on how to get a beam to automatically connect to a column at a skewed angle? Or am I just going to have to used cut geometry and edit the beam once it's in place?

A couple of things: First for any angular component use reference lines instead of reference planes. Reference lines give you a definitive endpoint and respond better to controlling angular constraints. Second, explore the idea of using voids in the family to control the end scew. This method may prove easier to control in multiple directions. Third, I would use a 'type catalog' rather than build all the types within the family itself. Type catelogs are much nicer and easier when yu have more than a couple types of a family.
