As a relative newcomer can sombody please help me out. When I create a split in an elevation or plan it is visible in plan only and not the elevation? The stange thing is that the split is there when I go back to edit the profile in elevation. I really want to see the split in elevation as well !

For what purposes are you splitting the wall? If the materials are the same and align properly then a line will not show between two similar split walls?

Thanks. I've made a lot of progress since the original post. The purpose of the split is to indicate joints in a precast conc wall. Elevations are fine, but when moving to a plan view to fine tune door and window placement I can not see any joints in the wall for reference???

I typically wall reveals, these can be placed both horizontally and vertically. Can be a little time consuming if its a big project and also swell the file size. It all depends on how many walls your talking about. Another method is, if your using version 7.0, is to use the curtain wall tool and change the panels to concrete wall. These can still accept doors and windows as a normal wall, but will give you the effect you desire. HTH.

Mr Spot Re your post seems as though your first sentence was cut short?? I'm using 6.1, I dont plan to upgrade untill I either rebuild or upgrade my machine in the next 2-3 months as I know 7 is thirsty for RAM. The project is a small office/factory (4walls) and not a huge number of windows etc.

It should read: I typically use wall reveals for pre-cast concrete joints. Just create the appropriate profile, load, and setup it up as a reveal then just click in elevation or 3d where you want to place the joints... This can all be done in version 6.1. HTH.
