im desging a resturenat rgiht now just for fun and i wanted to know how big the kitchen should be compared to the size of the resturant. the resturnat itself is about 17,000sqft, and there is also a patio aera also.

Sounds like it's quite an ambitious project there! I quickly checked around on Google. Personally I don't know anything about restaurant sizing and such, but what I did find is that roughly, a ballpark number is 5 sf per seat in your restaurant for your kitchen design.

 

I'm sure there are many, many variables to this size according to what you are serving.

This high end restaurant in NYC has 3800 sf of kitchen and storage for 140 seats. And they said it was compact. 17,000 sf is a huge restaurant!

yea well the resturant itself is on the water so what i was thinking having a portion of the resturant be like a ship sotre or some thing simalar. any input greatly apperciated!
