I would like to change the shade color of a material in different view.  For example, I would like to have the stone, brick, or stucco shade in the plan view to be white and in a 3D or elevation view I would like it to be a color of my choice.  I have looked at the override functions of the views and have not found anything that allows me to accomplish this.  Is there a way to do this?  Reason behind it is that the owners want the plan view to have the structure shaded and the finishes just hatched but on a 3D view they want some color to differentiate materials.

 Thanks

Open the properties of your wall assebly and in edit mode, you can define your materials by selecting the finish material. In that dialogue box you have four options. The top one will be "Shading" which defines the color of the material when in any of the shaded views. The next one "Accurender" defines the rendered material. The next, "Surface Pattern" will add a texture to the shaded view and the last, "Cut Pattern" is what the plan view hatch of that component will be. You also can set the "coarse" plan view setting of the entire assembly (no differentiation between individual components like medium or fine will allow. This is set in the same edit mode of the wall assembly under graphics. HTH

Thanks for the response.  However, that part I got figured out.  Now what I need to do is make the material show differently in shaded with detail mode in different views.  If I give a brick material only a white shade when in plan and I want it to have a color shade when in a 3D view and using shaded with detail.

I am just having a bit of a problem with getting the shading on the walls to work nicely everywhere.  Does anyone have a scheme that they use for shading of walls for use in various views?  The principles want the structure to be shaded and the finishes to be white like paper.  They also want more diliniation between lines inside the wall without going too thin on the lineweight.

Thanks
