Can you only save a Revit file as a DWF? Or is there a way to save it as a good old PDF? =) I'm using Revit Architecture 2008.

You can print it to a PDF if you have a PDF printer driver installed. Adobe Acrobat Professional works well, but then do many of the freeware PDF drivers. My personal favorite if PDF995 www.pdf995.com Free if you can put up with the pop-up ad, $9.95 if you want to supress them.

I don't know what you are talking about. We print to PDF all the time in REVIT. You just have to set up yor PDF writing program as one of your printers - just like in CAD.

Like WWHub states, printing to PDF from Revit is a function of having a Windows print driver for PDF's installed. There are tons of free and paid PDF drivers out there, simply pick your favorite. That said, a long time ago Revit actually did have its own PDF writer built-in circa version 4.5 - 6.1. It was pulled out by Autodesk eventually in favor of DWF. While DWF has its merits, hard to compete with the PDF format that is standard everywhere it seems.

I understand why it was done, but I don't like it. I'd love to use DWF's, I prefer them to PDF. But when all the architects I work with are demanding PDFs, telling them that ADesk would prefer we use DWF just doesn't fly. To the OP, another free PDF writer to check out is doPDF. I've been using it, and it seems to be working ok.
