We had this same problem in our office a week ago. Here is the responce that we received... gdelfs active Joined Tue, Apr 3, 2007 2 PostsNo rating When trying to save to central or access the central file we recieve this error. An attempt to access 060153 Central.rvt past its end. Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone know of any solutions/causes for this? I don't want to lose the work we have done in our individual "save as" links. Please help. Contact Autodesk support and see if they can repair the file, but most likely it will be unrepairable. Best bet is to find a local file or a backup that you can open that has the least missing information... I can't remember what the cause of this error is either... ----------------------------------- Regards, Chris. IT/CAD Manager/Senior Designer

Since the error occured fairly early in the morning, we just replaced the file with the previous days back-up.

"Does anyone know what causes this error I have a File that it keeps happening to." Hi, did you ever receive an answer to your question about what causes the "attempt was made to access xfile.rvt past its end"?

Once this message is recieved the current file is completely corrupt. This error can be caused by crashing the program or "ending the task" while it is trying to save. The best thing to do is go back into a bak. file, and attempt to send the crashed file to Autodesk. In some cases the bak. files can be corrupted as well, in which case your only option is to "save as" a couple different files of the same drawing. Hope this helps...

Thank you,
I was thinking the same thing. That for some reason it was corrupt. We had issue with this central file, as one of our designers started to work on the central file instead of the local file.
So we had to make a her central but it wouldn't because her file was out of date.
Thanks, for the quick response.
