I am working on a fairly in depth wall schedule for a project. I would like to be able to schedule rough areas for sheathing, siding or other exterior finishes, and drywall takeoffs, etc. For our purposes, I am basing everything on the wall area, which Revit calculates already, and using that as the basis for a formula. An example of the issue is calculating drywall area. Interior walls have two sides of drywall, while exterior walls only have one side of drywall. In the end I need a total drywall square footage number. The problem I am running into is that Revit seems to only let you 'calculate values' by column, whereas I need it by row. Is there a way to assign a different formula to each different cell as you can in Excel?

Have you tried using the Material Takeoff schedule in Revit 9.1? The Materail Takeoff schedule will get the areas and volumes of the mutliple layers the wall is composed of. Be sure to do some simple sample work to be sure you understand how Revit treats things like door and window openings as they relate to material areas.
