I've been recently trying to explore Revit 6.1 (I'm a Revit newbie, I must add), and while going through the tutorials it says that I can load more than one family at a time into my project, but I haven't been able to do so! I press down Ctrl and leave it pressed, try to select more than one door, but I can't seem to select more than one at a time
What's happening here? Am I doing something wrong?

It sounds like your using the load button that appears when for instance you select doors.
Instead, go to your file pull down menu and choose load family. You should be able to load multiple families here...
