Hi, I'm just wondering if there's any way of making a file smaller. In autocad I would normally just purge and audit it, but I'm not sure how to in Revit?? I have rendered a drawing and the file is huge.

You can purge the file like in the AutoCad. Go to the "file" menu, then "Purge Unused".

Purging a file does not remove all traces of an autocad file. You need to delete it from all the views and then go to object styles imported objects and remove the extra layers that it created. In future when importing a dwg always import to it to one view only and link the file! This will help with when you are deleting it from a project. Another thing you need to look out for is in plce families. The more there are the larger the project file! Always make sure that recreate an implce family after you are satisfied with the general shape of it.

Hi there, in the save dialogue box > options > maximum no. of backups> specify only 1. Always save rendered views in another folder, not in the project - file>export>image>another path. this makes much of a difference.
