I purchased Revit earlier this year and have tried several times to figure out how to 'do a PDF file.' I want to be able to email a PDF file to a client. I've tried the Help Menu, searched the Forum, tried using the Quicken PDF Printer which gives me an error. Every couple of weeks, I try to figure it out with no sucess. Please help! What am I missing?

I use DWF....(drawing web formate) to share drawing files with clients. It exports easily in 2d & 3d and the autodesk viewer is free. Below is the link for the viewer. Much better than PDF. To view the attached DWF file, download the free Autodesk DWF Viewer from http://www.autodesk.com/dwfviewer-download

I would reccommend downloading a free PDF printer (The one we use is cute PDF.) Then you print just like you would using a regular printer, and (with cute PDF at least) you name the file.

Thanks for you response. I downloaded the 'Cute PDF' and it works. For some reason, I had this incorrect notion that Revit had it already included. I'm curious about the DWFand I'll explore that too. Thanks!

If I am not mistaken, Revit 8.0 had a PDF exporting option. For some reasons, they took it out since release 8.1. In any case, you can still go to print and chose PDF Writer as your printer and print your works from there. Adobe Acrobat 7.0 works better with Revit raster images. If you have time, you can try DWF export. It is really nice.
