What is an appropriate size for an background image? What is the best option? Planar,spherical or cylindrical Thanks

Are you talking pixel size or size in MB? Spherical are generally best as that way you get a more realistic reflection in the windows as they have something to reflect rather than a solid colour.

Yes pixel size and the resolution needed. The sample backgroundsthat come with Revit seem to vary. Thanks

For a clean render i believe anything above 150dpi to be the sweet spot. The size of the background image will greatly depend on what quality you are rendering at. For higher dpi i would recommend a larger sized background. If you can match them up reasonably well you won't get situations where the background looks bodgy or the background is overpowering and the model looks bodgy. HTH.

Check out this link for some free panoramic sky samples. http://www.marlinstudios.com/samples/samppano.htm I use these all the time as they are high quality. Tom
