i am trying to assemble a glass plank window wall. Pilkington' Profilit system is a set of interlocking U-Shaped Glass Channels that create a nice window wall. http://www.pilkington.com/resources/profilitbrochure1small1.pdf how would you go about creating this wall? can you create a custom glass channel that repeats itself? and then interlock them manually? would you just show a glazed wall with the curtain grid applied w/ no mullions, and then worry about the configuration of the wall in details? we arent going to be rendering this project, so a realistic representation isnt critical. please help.

There may be a better way, but I think the second way you described would be the way to do it. You would balloon your file size if you modeled each plank. Just have the curtainwall be the thickness of the overall assembly, and use the curtain grid sans mullions so that in elevation each plank is illustrated.

Agreed, curtain curtains at the same intervals as the planks seem appropriate for what you're trying to achieve, either that or a glass with a surface pattern of vertical lines at the correct intervals.... If you actually wanted to model the planks correctly, I'd create a curtain panel of the U-shape and create a curtain system to match. But that would only be if the use of this window wall is limited and the project is relatively small. HTH.

I see this thread is old, but Pilkington has now a revit project for those profilit curtain walls, you have to thransfer the project standards of that wall into your building file. The problem that I'm having with this wall is that I can't  make them to attach to a sloped roof, it gives me this error

Can't make type "Pilkington - Profilit - Antisol : Profilit - Antisol®".

and then I have to delete it or cancel the attachment. any ideas? thanks!
