hi, i am trying to achive the look per attached. this is tilt-up building so i am using curtain wall method but have trouble figuring out how to detail mitered connection at building corners. i tried to use rectangular profile mullion and rotate it 45 deg but the wall is not being adjusted to match diagonal. any workaround how to achieve this look?

thanks

It can be done but before I tell you how I suggest you not model this in 3D as its simply too much detail. Model it as wall at the correct thickness and wall buildup you need. Complete your plan and then create plan details and show this corner junction as a region fill and add in dimensions, text etc. Job Done. You are barely going to see the corner junction in elevations/3d, so I why bother.Nonetheless to do it anyway...Having done this type of precast concrete construction before, in that instance I used a curtain wall system. I created bespoke panels with angled edges to achieve that chamfered junction and bespoke corner mullions to achieve that jointing infil. That was 5 storey, $100M central energy plant with many different panel colours and jointing types though. As an alternative, you could create a normal wall with the correct finishes, thicknesses and buildup and stop just short of the corner. Then create an in-place wall and joint at the corner and join it to the system wall to remove the seam.

"I created bespoke panels with angled edges to achieve that chamfered junction and bespoke corner mullions to achieve that jointing infil"

so how do i do this? it will not allow me to modify profile in plan, only in elevation. i also was experimenting with angled mullions but i can not achieve this miter look.

hello,

first of all i join forces with beaucoupnice Beaucoupnice , i only did it as to extend my knowledge and to see if its even possible , so i  would suggest just detail it , but if you insist the way to do it is to do " Custom Profile Families " and keep manouvering between the offset of the mullion and the panel until you get the right shape ( don't mess with the angle ( that was my way ) ) , and actually i had to create 2 mullions Profiles "the right one" and "its mirror" ( i don't remember why to be honest ).

Hope this helps ,

elnazer, i am sort of in a same boat, i like to learn and experiment with revit. thats why i want to know how to do this, in case i need to use corner mullion with this look sometime maybe. i keep playing with the mulllion profile but the problem i have is that the panel does not adjust to the mullion 45 deg angle. the panel always gets trimed at 90 deg angle. is there a trick to force it to get trimed diagonally to match mullion?
