Revit 2017 OS10,

I am a long time Revit user, but new to taking care of the licenesing. I have Revit 2017 installed and running, but my license expired and so I renewed it and got a new license number.  I'm told that I cannot just input the new license number, but I have to uninstall and reinstall Revit.  Is this correct?

I found out that this is suposedly becuase the BDSP package and the new AEC parckage have different product keys that cannot be changed.  Is this actually true and why would AutoDesk do something so inconvienent for there users.

Did you end up re-instaling it?

I did one because I did not have time to wait to figure out another way.  However, I have 3 more to do.

I changed 2 seats from Revit Collaboration Suite to AEC Collections and was told by the sales people (not Autodesk) that I had to uninstall and reinstall. I did it, inconveinent but not a huge deal...

All those smart people at AutoDesk that can develpe all this great software, for some reason make the licensing more difficult that necessary.  AutoDesk is more worried about being able to track every liceses and get every dime possible that they forget that we have to get this stuff installed in a timely way.  Stepping thru 5 hoops to get there seems overly complicated.
