I don’t think we can yet insert excel documents .xls into Revit. So If I wanted to take some data that I have rearranged in excel and bring it into Revit. How do I do it? I thought I read about a method on how to create a generic empty schedule that could be edited so to speak. But I cannot recall for sure. TIA, Sam

I tend to let Excel handle tasks that it is good at. Things like building code reviews that are not based on the Revit model I do in Excel. To get the Excel data to print in Revit, I print out of Excel to a PDF, then in Acrobat save the PDF to a JPG format and insert the JPG into Revit. It sounds like more work that it is. Do I wish I could just link in the Excel file? Yes, but meantime this works for me. There is also a program from Dotsoft that will convert a Excel file into a AutoCAD file which you could then "link" in to Revit. Check out www.dotsoft.com for more information. Tom

No, doesn't look bad at all. The secret is to make sure you stop at the PDF format first. If you go straight from Excel to JPG then you get a pixely look. Printing to PDF also gives you all the things properly formatted as Excel isn't quite WYSIWYG You will find that when you bring the JPG into Revit it will be oversized as Revit is a 72DPI display (as are all Windows apps). Just resize the JPG down in size in Reit as you see fit. Tom
