Trying to "copy" and "paste aligned" to a different level.
I get a door in same location warning. Seems that I have work planes set to coordinate iwth the specific levels that I'm working with.
Anyone know why that might be happening??
For that matter, I guess I can't place any doors or windows on the first floor level.
I was duplicating views earlier, if that might have something to do with it.
Seems like I may have duplicated the Lower lever and then applied the view template from a first floor view.
Thank you

Seems like everything I try to place on first floor level defaults to the lower level.
In an effort to troubleshoot, does anyone know if it's a problem to duplicate a lower level plan view and then apply view template to the view based on an upper level plan view??

I can create an inplace component properly, but haven't figured out the windows or doors placement yet.

Each floor plan is by default associated to a particular level, you cannot change this defaul level once the floor plan has been created.
To create a new floor plan for a different level, goto View-->New-->Floor Plan and pick which level you want the plan for.
It sounds as though you have tried to manually change a views level association by adjusting view range setttings etc?
Either that or you have set a workplane in your floor plan view that differs from the associated level of the view. Use the set workplane button in that view (top left corner) and reset it to the correct level.
HTH.

THANKS MR. SPOT
I BELIEVE THAT I DID TRY THE WORK PLANE SETTING, AS YOU DESCRIBED, BUT I STILL GOT THE SAME RESULT.
I'LL JUST CREATE THE FLOOR PLAN VIEWS AS YOU SUGGEST.
THANKS
