Are you good with creating families? We have made the switch to Revit but do not have the time to make detailed families. interested?

We specialize in the restaurant industry so we are needing a few standard things since a lot of our projects use the same things. Below is a list that would like to have right a way and then on a needed basis we could add to this. If you can send me an example of your work. Ex: Table/Chairs w/ size and number of people so we can tag in schedules for counts Door families - just a few Wall Types Furniture

Perhaps review the free pre-built content available online in the Revit Web Library that you can access from the OPEN dialog box in Revit. You can also access it free through this URL. http://revit.autodesk.com/library/html/index.html Revit 9.0 Library > US Library > Families > Specialty Equipment > Food Service Revit 9.0 Library > US Library > Families > Specialty Equipment > Store Fixtures Revit 9.0 Library > US Library > Families > Specialty Equipment > Toilet Room Specialties Fireplaces, 3D people in various postions (sitting, standing, walking) to review work and traffic flow, shelving, lighting, coolers, tables, chairs, etc. are buried within this secure server managed through Autodesk. When you browse this site and find a whole page of content you need, pick the filing cabinet icon in the upper right corner...it will download the whole page in the form of a zip file. http://cadgrafx.com/blog/revit/2006/01/free-3d-revit-downloads-of-detailed.html I've worked on several projects in both the formal and leisure dining markets and have been able to meet most of our needs with the link above; as well as Revitcity. Finding and coordinating pre-built content was a task that took the the most time but paid the biggest return. I taught their coordinators how to add property data to the content so we could do analysis of space for code review and Return On Investment of the space....basically, which design seated the most guests comfortablly using the labor pool budgeted for the business. A great tool to use would be Revit's Design Options to simulate and analyze the business value of your design proposal for your client. Arquia brings up a good point, unless you are using the content for visualization, it can be done in 2D. Here's a free online audio video you can use to review the concept. Its a Revit Version 7.0 video, Design Options has definitely more abilities now in Revit 9. http://cadgrafx.com/blog/revit/2006/03/free-online-revit-training-design.html Cheers to your global adventure!
