Hi everyone, I have a question about the representation of R.C. staircase construction in revit. The way we build RC staircase in real life is (which is a very old fashion method I guess); We first cast the concrete into the formwork along with the slab, then before putting the ceramics on, pour another layer of concrete over it, as thick as the levelling concrete, just to bring the steps to the same level with the floor. The reason for this application is the low quality workmanship. You never know how thick the levelling concrete become at the end of the day. To resolve this uncertainty, they basically fill each step with more concrete. My question is, how can I offset risers, and lift treads up to replicate our construction method in revit?? What I was doing up until now is, basically I set the stair thickness slightly more then detail it in sections. Is there a way to create a parametric family for treads and risers, so i can offset them according to my levelling concrete thickness in the project? Also and a layer of concrete between ceramics and staircase structure? Please check the screeshots to have a better idea.... I would be grateful if someone can help me in this regard! Thanks...

I suspect that is too much variables for the stair families. Either you model in place or do a region in the section (as you did on the left drawing?).

You could look into using a nosing profile and have a tread depth parameter so that it extends the dept of the stair and add a thickness parameter to control the height. The profile could also include the riser with parameters added to contol those properties
