Hello everyone! I'm using Revit Lt 2014.

In our office, we model gutters using the gutter tool, which is great. The problem is that the plan representation shows all the interior edges of the gutter, which is too much detail. We only want to see the outermost edge of the gutter in plan.

I have been using the linework tool to get rid of the interior edges. Is there a better way? Could we modify our view settings or the family?

Maybe change your 2d profile to show small curves instead of straight edge corners which may read as "not lines" in plan.

or

Use a family and not show the 3d element in plan but instead show a 2D mask.

or

Hide the gutter in plan and draw a 2D mask in its place.

I’m using fully enclosed gutter profile (see pic). In elevations, it displays as it would have an end cap and it shows a single line on the roof plan. The only time you need to use a linework tool is in the section view, which is imvho not so bad at all.

pijpiwo, I have been using gutter profiles the same as yours (as far as I can tell). But it appears you get different behavior (single line on roof plan). Is there something special about the profile you're using that I am missing?

No, nothing special. Can you upload your profile family so we can check it out?
