My current firm has dozens of autocad details they want me to use in my revit model. Colors and pens are already assigned in autocad. How do I translate those color=pen weight settings into Revit and make those a permanent part of my template file? I guess I will be linking a lot of autocad details as I go through this process. Also, is there a way to translate SHX font to equal a TT font?

When you do this, you will want all of the linework/text to be B/W because color will change the line values....

Read this in your HELP

I found the text files supplied revit. I savedas and modified one to match the firms autocad lineweights. I did import line weights, selected the text file. I then linked a cad detail they have, i checked colors: black and white. Is this correct because all the lineweights look very thin.

I don't ever do this so I don't know what to expect you will see on your screen.  It may be that the lineweights will only show when printing.   CAD lines never show thickness like Revit lines do.

So do a print check.

Looks like the import worked. Thanks for your help. Talked to the boss, told him text is going to be an issue.

well maybe almost.............so it seems I was able to migrate autocad text to a TT font, but the color of the text does not matter for pen weight translation like line work. Any ideas?

Yes - there is no pen weight for text, but you can bold text or find a different font.
